What is the name of your state? MA
My wife and I fell behind on our mortgage payments for 2 months, and we were sent a foreclosure notice that gave us 30 days to bring it current. We were just discharged July 28th for a C-7BR. We called to try to make payment arrangements, and they sent us paperwork for financial statements, etc. They want to know the detailed reasons for a short sale request (I have never heard of that), and how much they will contribute to the loss. I called and talked to the person handling our case, and she said not to worry about that; that all they needed was the financials. She also said she would send info on how and where we had to send the 50% of the money we owed before they would work out a payment plan. When we called today to find out what to do next (we had the money and financial statements) the lady I talked to earlier said that she was not handling our case any more, and was giving us over to "HIG". A supervisor form HIG told me that someone would call me back so we could work out the payments. 4 hours later, and we're still waiting. I've called Ameriquest 4 times, and always get put on hold by automatic answerers, or it hangs up after a few minutes. A few questions : Is Ameriquest trying to make it look like we're not interested in paying (by not calling to tell us where to send the money and papers, and not answering when we enter our loan number)? What is a short sale request, and, does anyone have any idea who or what "HIG" is? Sorry to be so long-winded. Thanks for any help.

Call me at (800) 618-8362 x. 181. From the limited information you have provided, I don't think refinancing is your best option.

Dugrmil,

Your story is very common. You can help stop this by levarging the internet's power. Make a rip off report.

A short sale request is where you offer to pay off your mortgage for less then the face value.
