What is the name of your state? Washington

I am writing about my 87 year old Uncle who lives in the state of Washington. This past fall, he married a young woman in her thirties and then adopted her 2+ year old son. She has never slept with him or consummated their marriage. She refuses to even sleep in the same room with him. He knows that she is running around on him. The question is, can the marriage be annulled because they never consummated it? And if so, how would he go about it? And would she be entitled to anything from him if it was annulled? Thank you for any help.

You have a new cousin.

When uncle dies, his wife and new kid will probably get everything.

In any event, uncle does not seem to be worried about this or he would've been to see a lawyer.

If he is worried about it, then he needs legal help immediately. He will never be able to get rid of the kid, but he can get rid of his wife and it is easier to get a divorce than an annulment.

BTW, how do you know about the sex stuff? Who told you?

To answer your question, consummation or lack thereof is not grounds for annulment. Plain and simple.

Washington is a community property state (you probably knew that and that's why you were hoping an annulment would work).

Two words.
The word hyphen derived from latin. If it were greek it would have been huphen. hehe

hy·phen ( P ) Pronunciation Key (hfn)

A punctuation mark (-) used between the parts of a compound word or name or between the syllables of a word, especially when divided at the end of a line of text.

tr.v. hy·phened, hy·phen·ing, hy·phens
To hyphenate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Late Latin, from Greek huphen, a sign indicating a compound or two words which are to be read as one, from huph' hen, in one : hupo, under; see hypo- + hen, neuter of heis, one; see sem-1 in Indo-European Roots.]
