answering the have you worked here before question

What is the name of your state? indiana

I applied for a job a year &1/2 ago even though i had a job at the time. (messed up and didnt take it).i had an interveiw & did the drug screen had a start date(thru temp.agency) and i didnt go.even though things looked bad at the present job(which it ended up closing) i decided i was giving up to much $4.00 per hr -seniority- 3 wks pd vac. i am trying to get on the place i passed up.

what would be the correct way to answer the question have you worked here before?

You had a job offer, which you declined - or at the very least you failed to show up on the day you were supposed to start. Therefore the correct answer to the question "Have you ever worked here before?" is "No."

just didn't want it to be considered as falsifying information. if they found out i didn't show up the last time i was suppose to. beings it is a could have(worked there) but didn't show up situation.

I understand and you're smart to be sure you're answering the application truthfully. But if you never showed up for your first day of work, then you never worked for them. Almost working for them is not the same thing. :) Good luck.

If the wording of the question was, Have you ever APPLIED here before (and I have seen that one) then the answer would be yes. If the wording was, have you WORKED here before, it's no. You didn't work. You applied.
