Personally I don't like them. From what I have seen throughout my years. For a majority of people, they don't work. There is always the worry that the company isn't up to par. You have to pay them to pay your creditors, a lot of the time you get farther behind, it's a big mess.
Not knowing your circumstances, but your behind. My suggestion is to call all of your creditors yourself, see what they can do. Some credit card companies have a program (possibly lower payments, interest rates) might be able to get a defer payment on a loan, some creditors have hardship programs, once again I don't know your situation. Depending how far you are behind you might want to see about settling some accounts. Some creditors might settle for 60% or even 50%.
Be proactive, communication with your creditors is the best solution. Talk to each of them, see what they can offer you, sit down after that and go from there. I wouldn't set up any payments until you have talked to each creditor. Prioritize your loans by importance. To me that is ten times better then consumer credit companies. Good luck.
