What is the name of your state? MI

Hi,

I had an IME about 5 weeks ago, and my adjuster claims the report indicated that another surgury was "reasonable". The WC carrier has still not authorized it. Does anyone have any ideas why they are "sitting on their hands"? I would think - the sooner this is done - the better for both of us.

I realize that any responses are hypothetical (sp?), but maybe I can get some ideas!

Thanks for all replies!

Ya got me. There are any number of possibilities, including that your assigned claims analysist at the WC carrier just hasn't gotten around to it yet. If I were you, I'd give him or her a call and see what they're thinking at this point and why the delay.

same thing happened to me. Took them 6 months to authorize surgery. Adjuster told my lawyer that I was just at the bottom of the stack and that is soonest she got around to it. Go figure.

Doesn't WC realize the longer a person sits with the damage that is already done especially when they are required surgery such as spinal injuries that include damage to nerves that can be created can only cause more damage to a person's body. I know it did mine and I needed a fusion. I waited 2 months for WC to issue a check to their choice of neurosurgeon for advance payment in his second opinion consult. My adjuster was sitting on it not wanting to pay the price he wanted for his consult. Darn, like I said, it was their choice of doctor they were sending me to. That was a smart doctor and he knew what he was in store for in collecting his fees from WC. How can WC adjuster just sit and play with a person's life is beyond me. After the consult, their doctor agreed, I needed the fusion and I then waited another month for surgery. All this time while the adjuster played around deciding if she felt like spending her employers money, I was suffering. How pitiful this system is to neglect people that are injured. I wish someone would explain to me how they are allowed to play God with your life!
