I'm in Missouri. Recognizing all cases are different, what are the parameters of cost or hours of attorney time for an appeal where the trial lasted about four days. Maintenance is the major issue I was billed last month for a law clerk becoming familiar with family law and maintenance in general. Is that ethical? last month's bill is over one-third of the predicted cost of appeal and we have no transcript, no brief, no court likely for likely nine months. No mention of a change of estimate. Attorney already familiar with case and areas of the law.
