They think that we pay our taxes for the fun of it.

all you wonderful people sound like such great americans, lets not forget the person sending us to fight is a deserter himself. lets all go out to iraq and liberate the poor iraqis by destroying their infrastructure in the early 90s, holding sanctions against them for about a decade that prevents them from living with the quality of life everyone should live with and then come back, bomb them all over again, and make them live with a form of government we decided for them. yea, thats really liberating these people.

as for ur tax dollars, yea, billions of ur tax dollars were wasted on operations to stop a weopons of mass destruction program that never existed. Why did the US ignore the UN's suggestion to gather more evidence on the situation b4 resorting to war?? that could have saved a lot of your tax dollars for better causes, like ensuring the qaulity of life for millions of AMERICANS. but whatever, i'm sure you patriots never wanna hear any other side but your own anyway. apparently, picking up an M16 and killing A-rabs is the only way to show that u love this country

i guess burt thinks voting for the ex cokehead who deserted while he was in the service is the more american thing to do. i guess he also rather see our tax dollars going towards the deaths of a lot people, needlessly ofcourse, then going towards better educational programs here in the united states. for the country whose supposed to be the worlds superpower, we sure have a lot of illiterate people. in fact, we have one of the highest illiteracy rates among non- thrid world countries. or maybe that tax money could go towards the "social security crisis" bush keeps talking about. or maybe it could go to a program that provides something similar to the GI bill without having to sign your life away to the military. maybey that'll stop a lot of yound people from making the huge mistake i made. or maybe that money could go towards giving everyone decent medical coverage, maybe that'll stop a lot more young people from making that mistake also. a country cant be so great when people join the military cause they beleive it can improve their economic standing, and trust me, if u ask any 10 people, at least 3 (and i'm being generous cause i didnt speak to everyone in the military, and 3 out of 10 is about a third) whythey joined, they'll tell u something like, " to get money to go to college" or "for the benefits".

Dear BS,

As I cannot in good faith refer to you as a "soldier", I shall address you as "BS".

Was PRESIDENT Bush ever convicted/sentenced for cocaine use?
Was PRESIDENT Bush ever convicted/sentenced for desertion?
Was PRESIDENT Bush ever convicted/sentenced for being AWOL?
Has PRESIDENT Bush done more positive things in his life than you have in yours?

When you signed those papers, you signed away much of your life and rights to get money for college, and benefits.

Go turn yourself in immediately and be a man.
(Better late than never I might add.)

If you get deployed to Iraq, volunteer for every hazardous detail you can find.
It is called "honor".
Look it up if you have to.

Do not make me have to verbally chastise you again.

no bush never got in legal trouble, but if your dad was a big shot on his way to beome president you would get away with alot more stuff..

bush didnt truly serve the military as everyone else does-- he served, but when he was in basic training a general called bush sr to tell him what an outstanding soldier little bush was... now do you think that bush sr got called because bush jr was really good, or was it because bush sr was a big shot politician..

and the good stuff you said bush has done is a joke. what has he really done for the people. i cant think of anything at all, but i sure can think of about ten things that he has done to help corperations...

i dont trust that beadie(sp?) eyed fock. i hope i never come across him while im still in the military. i will refuse to salute him....

Burt.....you are the typical Bush supporter....which I don't condemn but you are obviously lacking in areas of necessary intelligence. Just because you are patriotic and love your country dosen't mean you have to support an idiot like Bush, who has the lowest ratings of any U.S. president since the beginning of this country; WHICH PROBABLY MEANS SOMETHING!!! I am a strong Republican, but this idiot in the White House is an absolute outrage. We will see what America really thinks of him once his second term is over and the next president is stuck cleaning up Bush's absolute mess of ruining the integrity of our country. I am a U.S. Marine who fought in Iraq; and like most U.S. Marines, we DO NOT support that frickin' lost cause of an idiot Bush. All these trailer trash hick who reelected him....shame on your lack of basic intelligence...start reading more or something you'll learn something.

Dude, you were the dumbass that signed up for the cause. Before you say anything else, my husband served 8 years, deployed to Desert Storm while we lived in Germany. He is out and cannot be called back. Youi signed on dude. Be a man or be a wimp.

as for ur tax dollars, yea, billions of ur tax dollars were wasted on operations to stop a weopons of mass destruction program that never existed. Why did the US ignore the UN's suggestion to gather more evidence on the situation b4 resorting to war?? No one can answer that. Most never agreed with it in the first place, but you joined remember?

that could have saved a lot of your tax dollars for better causes, like ensuring the qaulity of life for millions of AMERICANS. but whatever, i'm sure you patriots never wanna hear any other side but your own anyway. Don't fool yourself. This forum knows the military life and most have lived it. Nothing new kid.

apparently, picking up an M16 and killing A-rabs is the only way to show that u love this country
YOU JOINED IDIOT!!!!! Hell, my husband didn't sign on again. Don't play that crap with me. I do not agree, I did not vote for Bush this time, but you obligated yourself to a serious commitment, along with Misleadyouth.

Now you will have something to think about the rest of your lives. You failed as men. You have no morals. You should never have joined. You were stupid to join.

Gee, see how that works?

Gesus, get your head on straight and grow up.

Heres some more food for thought for Misledyouth who is trying to convince himself of a general discharge,( OTH).

According to the Uniform Code For Military Justice, if a soldier goes
AWOL for 30 days, the government changes the status to desertion. Both
are violations under the code.

When the status is changed to desertion, according to the code, the
military contacts family members and issues an arrest warrant to all
of the law enforcement agencies in the United States. If police then
stop the
individual, he/she will be arrested and returned to military control.

An AWOL soldier, under article 86 of the Uniform Code For Military
Justice, faces a maximum punishment of "a dishonorable discharge,
forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement at hard labor
for 18 months."

Article 85 of the code, dealing with desertion, establishes that "the
maximum punishment is a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay
and allowances, and confinement at hard labor for three years. In
times of war, the maximum punishment for desertion is death by lethal
injection."
