I am 18. Ihad an arrest warrant issued for class B misd. I turned myself in and paid 300.00 bond. I go to court today.I have never been in trouble before. I did it. I just wanr everything over. My question is . At the scene the police questioned me and said the prosecuter might file charges. He did and I turned myself in.The police finger printed and took a picture and had me sign papers. Nobody ever read me my rights. Is this a legal arrest.

If you had done a search on this site for 'miranda' you would have had an answer within 5.7 seconds.

Yes, it was a legal arrest. Miranda warnings ('your rights') are only required incident to an arrest and only then before interrogation to protect the suspects self incrimination possibility.

What they did to you was booking.

Would this have mattered if at the scene the police had not advised him that the prosecutor could charge him. My question deals more with what's on the arrest warrant given by the cop - if it doesn't specify a charge, can they later bring one - even if nothing is said or written?
