Okay, back to square one.

I called, and the customer service rep said, they cannot help me, they do not give their address ONLY a fax number to the resolution department.

Are they allowed to do that? Is my only choice to pay the bill?

The phone was stolen from me in Panama on Thankgiving day....

The phone was left in a cab on Thanksgiving day....

Your story has changed dramatically....Since you were in custody and possession of the phone and you lost it, then it sounds like you are totally responsible for the charges.

What is the name of your state? Maryland

I am being charged $1800 for fradulent cellular phone calls I did not make. The phone was stolen from me in Panama on Thankgiving day, upon my return to Maryland I called and reported the phone lost (Sunday after Thanksgiving). The company that is going through a merge claims not to have any record of my call to report the lost phone. I have submitted 3 faxes to their resolution dept. without any response. Customer service has no record of all calls I made or faxes I have sent to resolve this matter.

I can prove I did not make those calls from Panama since I was in the United States, my passport is stamped with my return on Saturday after Thanksgiving)

What can I do ?
does at@T HAVE A FRAUD DEPARTMENT THAT CAN RESEARCH THE CALLS WHAT THEY CAN DO IS CHECK YOUR PAST STATEMENTS AND REVIEW NUMBERS DIALED THAY CAN ALSO TELL IF THOSE CALLS ARE FRAUDULENT CALLS BE RESEARCHING CALLS WHICH THEY CAN DO IF IT IS DETERMINE THAT THE CALLS ARE THEY CAN BE CREDITED THIS REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CINGULAR AND AT@T MERGER THEY STILL HAVE A FRAUD DEPARTMENT THAT CAN VIEW THOSE CALLS

Well it is NOT a different story. Yes it was left in a cab (I believe that that is what happened), It was stolen when someone picked it up and used it. It was not their phone, and they used it stealing minutes and making fraudulent calls.

The point is that I reported it lost on Saturday, and whatever happened, my responsibility should have stopped at that moment when I reported the phone was not in my possession anymore.

I hope you never loose your phone and someone picks it up to make international calls.

No AT&T/Cingular does not offer anything like that, no research department, only a resolution department (or just a fax number to a supposedly resolution department), they know I did not make the calls, my years of being a good customer shows, I have never made calls like that.
