What is the name of your state? OK

Are attorney fees paid for SSDI processing a deductible expense?

I greatly overpaid state income taxes. My itemized deductions are reduced so that I only receive credit for part of the overpayment as a deduction this year. I will need to report the entire refund amount as income next year. Is there a way to correct my overpayment?

I paid estimated taxes when I received the lump sum payment in the 2nd quarter. There is no underpayment penalty on the total due. The tax software wants to assess a penalty for underpayment in the 1st quarter. Other than asking for a waiver, is there some documentation that should be submitted to support the request?

Thanks.

Go to a tax pro. If you made enough money that your itemized deductions were reduced, you can afford the tax pro.

This is a situation where the software isn't doing you any favors.
