The bill is not dead yet - it gets a 2nd chance

Despite the Times article, the bill is not dead yet. The committee approved "reconsideration" - meaning that it will come back for another vote at a later meeting, possibly as early as May 13. Since three committee members were absent for the previous vote, and only two additional 'yes' votes are needed for passage, it may very well pass.

Checking this bill, i don't see any requirement for commercial company to id the driver. Guess once they pass this bill, that will be next thing on the list, till then business are off the hook.

Here we are 3 years later and the same State senator is trying again, for her 3rd time, to get speed cams approved for California. It's SB 1325 and will be coming up for a vote sometime in May 2008.

The bill says it will be a pilot program just in Beverly Hills, but if you look at the bill info on the legislature's website, you can see another city "waiting in the wings." Bill info is at: http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/postquery?bill_number=sb_1325&sess=CUR&house=B&author=kuehl

That's great. Maybe next we can get a ticket for speeding at some future date. Oh wait wasn't that "Minority Report"?

BTW: Speak for yourself cause I care even though we don't have them...yet.
