Back and leg problems

What is the name of your state? GA I was having alot of pain with both legs and lower back sent to neurosurgeon he said surgery was going to have to be done at some poin tin time. I fell at work and my employers Dr. put me on light duty i am a nursing assistant in a hopital...went back to my Dr. wouldn't let me off light duty after w/c took me off for 3 wks. Had to have spinal fusion in August and may be going back to work on light duty for 1 yr. my problem while i was on light duty before....at times i still had to preform regular patient care. With this spinal fusion there is no way i can now. I also ask the Dr, did he think my fall made my back worse of course he said no.....but why did he not put me on light duty before the fall then? Do I need to contact a lawyer they made life miserable for me while on light duty, tried everyway to make me quit , i stuck to my guns but its getting close to me probably going back to work on light duty for a year and i can't hold out at home doing regulr light house work . I'm 53 yr. old female any suggestions.

I contacted a lawyer he said he didn't think i had a case, because of pre-existing condition, i go back to have x-rays the 11 of Dec. and back to the Dr. the 12th. The way he is telling me i will go back to work then on light duty for 1 yr. Like i said i can barely do light house work....but the attorney told me he was going to talk with another and to come see him the day i see the Dr. But what i don't understand why he didn't put me on light duty until after the fall and yet say it didn't make my condition worse any help please
