What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? tx

hi. i got arrested last year and my friend bailed me out for 500 cash.. i paid him back by check the next day. a year later the case is over and they released the check to him. he now wont give me the money back and he cashed it I know because i checked and he also emailed me and said he did. he will not return my calls or emails. since the money is "technically" his is there any chance i could win a civil suit? if not should i take it to criminal court or is that overkill?

thanks so much

Why do you think this is a Civil Rights issue?

Civil Rights and civil LAW are two different things...

Please report to the appropriate forum.

im sorry, i didnt mean to make a duplicate post..i thought perhaps i didnt register correctly or something. ive never posted here, or been through anything like this before.. i logged back in and checked my user control panel and looked for my original post because i couldnt remember where i put it. and as far as where to post, ive never had any dealings with the law or issues like this before so i have no clue what kind of issue this actually falls under. If the mods could please put it where it should go i would really appreciate it. i didnt mean to cause any problems..
