LOL you should have just built a nice garden shed outhouse (only after learning if your city county codes required a permit if it was over a certain size so you would have kept it under that size) but seriously its likely if your in a city that they have a actual ordinance that requires homes to have functioning sewage systems so its not that its over reach but a huge issue is protecting ground water , which local rules can be all over the place. Where I live one cannot build a house on less than 2.5 acres if the home is going to be on private well & septic. Yet ive seen other places where the lots are a lot smaller and they still were able to put in a well and septic great way for everyone in a neighborhood to screw up the water table = every ones water

What does this have to do with ground water? lol that makes no sense. The porta potty isnt connected to any thing under the ground. EVEry thing is kept in a tank of some sort in the porta potty structure, it is cleaned every 6 days, it in no way affects ground water quality. And i do have a functioning sewage system it just has a small area that is damaged that is being replaced starting tuesday. I dont believe in spending money that i dont have and being further enslaved to the all mighty banking system. Instead i found a temporary solution to my issue, i worked and SAVED up the money, and all should be well. The county needs to back up, unless the porta potty is violating some sort of law. If they want to try to condemn the house thats a different story, my issue here is the PORTA POTTY

Whenever the official determines that there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been or continues to be a violation of any provision of this code or of any rule or regulation concerning the health, safety, or general welfare adopted by the city as it relates to structures or premises, he shall give notice of such alleged violation to the owner of the property as per subsection (C) below. Such notice shall:

Be in writing.

State the nature of the violation or violations.
(3)
State the provision or provisions of this code or any other relevant code of the city that is being violated.
(4)
State the penalty and penalty provision of this code or any other relevant code of the city.
(5)
State that the official will take further action pursuant to the building standards code if the violation is not cured within thirty (30) days of receipt of the notice specified in this subsection.


None of this has happened yet, i would think that since this has NOT happened yet, no official code has been broken am i correct? Alll they have done is come out and talk to me. Nothing more.

I doubt they would come with a warrant to remove the toilet. They would likely start issuing citations and associated penalties for a code violation. Unless you work nights you can start subtracting the time missed from work from that $62k per year.

As to porta johns being airtight; didn't you notice that big tube coming out of the top? That is the vent tube for the storage tank.

And pre-2002 vets? Screw you. Any military person deserves respect and honor. Those that have died post 2002 have died doing what was asked of them for our country just as those that died pre 2002 have.

Its in a fenced flat area, ive also tied it down due to it being hurricane season and me being on the gulf coast so good luck to them . And i didnt mean anything against the vets themselves, i meant that the old military, the pre 2002 military fought for different reasons then the military of today. Not to say the men and women serving today are not worthy of our respect and admiration, its the leaders of todays military who i do not respect. All buildings or structures which have any or all of the following defects or lack of facilities shall be deemed substandard buildings:

All buildings or structures which have pit privies where the same are not permitted by law or which are not connected to the city sewer when required by law, or where inadequate and unsanitary pit privies or septic tanks exist.

Im good, the porta potty is a portable pivy, and is not required by law to be connected to the sewar, and its maintained by the company that rents it, which keeps it clean, and free from insects, and over flow as well as bad odor!

Agreed, and i love that right! And to not use my voice to insult the government would be a shame to the pre-2002 us military men and women who died to give us those rights!! Its a beautiful thing!! anywho, they are coming monday to fix my pipes as for the can..im keeping it til they come with a warrant to take it.. after that i will pursue my options. It really is fun to battle the governments in the courts when it comes to matters that do not affect ones freedom or saftey i might add.
