What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I am being sued for return of money on a sale of a puppy. Can they win??

Upon the cash transaction of selling the puppy, no health guarantee/contract was asked to be given. The Buyer stayed in town for one night but didn't mention any visible sickness of the puppy. They later told me I sold them a sick puppy and the puppy died in 14 days. They also asked some angry vet to call me and when I asked about having a copy of the tests they've done on the puppy the request was refused.

The rest of the two puppy from the same litter are still very healthy. Will they win the law sue? I sold about 10 puppies in the past two years and never had any complains. I am just a hobby breeder.

Please help!

Sounds like you need a lawyer.
Not necessarily an immediate need.

OP, did you have any indication the puppy was ill when you sold it? Did the puppy have it's first round of shots before you sold it, or was that the buyer's responsibility? Did the buyers take the puppy to a vet once they purchased it, or did they wait until it was gravely ill? What did the veterinarian diagnosed the puppy with? There are alot of unknowns that should be answered before you can get a knowledgable opinion.
