What is the name of your state? IL

I am looking to get more information on bifurcating (am I using that properly?) my divorce so that I may remarry. I don't want this to negatively affect my divorce proceedings, or rather the custody trial scheduled for later this year. Is this a simple process of just filing forms, or are there certain steps I should take to make it happen easier? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

What it means is that you are a single person, free to remarry, acquire new debts, make new legitimate children.
The court retains the right to decide "reserved issues": property, equities, money.
Remarrying before custody is settled could be a plus or minus depending on the court's view of what is in the best interest of the minor child. Talk to your lawyer before you do anything. Talk to your accountant about tax issues. Pay for good advice.
