My lanlord sent me a letter in 10/04 telling me that he can't find proof that I paid him rent from 10 and 14 and 18 months ago. I was only able to find a copy for 1 of those months. I was forced to pay the other two. My question is, how far back can a landlord go back and charge you rent? I have lived here for 9 years. p.s. I posted a question earlier about "retaliatory eviction" and no one has responded. I would welcome and appreciate any advice you could give me in either questions...thanx

I paid with money orders...I throw tehm away at the end of each year.
