I could have bet money on a female behind those high pitches........I guess somethings are never what they appear to be. Do men get proud when being presumed to be women? :D

I'm lost too. I don't know if we're talking about BB or Lorane, my comment was in reference about Lorane, I already know what BB is ;) .

This thread got off track, but heck, swift turns makes it so much more enticing.

I have work since 1989 with non custodial parent groups. I was on the news with the non custodial goup in 1990. I have seen and heard these judgements come down that destroyed lives. The rate of men who have committed suicide because of divorce is unbelieveable.

Why pay a attorney money, when everything is taken in the judgement? You paid the attorney to do a job for you. When you pay someone around $100 a hour and you end up with basically nothing, should that person be paid? If I preformed tha way in my work, I would definitely not get paid. One should preform the work that they were paid to do or not get paid. I believe that all people, whether male of female deserve the same consideration in the laws. When a judge tells a man that he has to work more than 40 hours a week to pay the judgement handed down and the worman is only working 1100 hours a year, not disabled, and has only worked 750 hours for the last 10 years, and is awarded lifetime alimony, where is the equality in the laws? The evidence showed that she agreed that she would go to work when the youngest child was in school full time. When that time came she did everything she could not have to work or go back to school. After running the credit cards up to $60,000, she tell her now Ex to work as much overtime as possible so that she can continue to spend. This man has spent 10 years paying the $60,000 debt and she did not pay a penny of the debt. But remember that she charged because she was depressed. When one spends money like this, it shouldn't be condoned or awarded.

There are as many abusive women as there are men, but how often have you seen judgements handed down stopping abusive women.

I am a woman and know the under handed things that women will do to get a free ride in life. I know women who have had multiple marriages, multiple children by multiple men and are receiving child on 4 and 5 children, just because they do not want to work. They are using the court system to get (18 or more years) a free ride. What does this teach the children?

BelizeBreeze, talk about me, where's your constructive information. Being a man, one would think that you would be more supportive of your gender. I am not a dyke nor am I a supporter of the women't lib groups. I believe in equal pay for equal work and I believe that people should have the same rights in the court system, regardless of color, sex, education or appearance. I also believe that the laws should be written so that the average person can understand them.

i live with my boyfriend. we have a new baby together, his first and only child. he was previously married for about 20 years. in his divorce he was ordered to pay 200$ a week to his ex in alimony, permant alimony. they have been divorced for about 4 years now. he was also ordered to carrier her on his medical insurance. he was recently notified through his employer that divorcees were no longer covered.as his company is self insured. now she is taking him back to court to try and make him pay the 300$ a month it will cost her for insurance on top of his alimony payments!!! he is still making the same money at his full time job but hasnt worked at his additional pt job in a few years, he now has a child of his own. he also totally supports a family of five. he, myself, his child and my two children from a previious relationship. his ex works a full time job and is not hurting for money in any way. she does have medical problems but they have not kept her from maintaining a ft job. we are barely making ends meet here. and he works saturdays to try and make up for the alimony. this is taking time away from spending time with his 6 month old son. is there any chance of reversal, decrease, or a least a chance he wont ind up giving this parasite any more moneymoney?????

Lorane, don't you realize that you are just as "blood sucking" as his ex wife is when it comes to money? You are expecting his income to support you and your two children from a previous relationship. You are doing exactly the same thing that she did during her marriage to him.

Maybe you won't run up the credit cards...but the money he is going to end up spending supporting YOUR children over the years may end up being even more.

Therefore you have no right to "throw stones" here. You married this man knowing full well what his LEGAL responsiblities were before you did so. If you believe your household needs more income, then GO GET A JOB.

One should also learn to spell. And by your line of thinking, Lorane, if a patient dies, the doctor shouldn't get paid. Go back to your little delusions, would ya?

LdiJ, I think you have me confused with the person who started the post. I rasied my children before I remarried. My husband stayed in his first marriage as long as he did, for the benefit of his children. He left when he knew that his youngest child was over the age of 12, the oldest was out of high school. He has since been paying for college for all three of his children, which all have completed 4 or more years. He will continue to pay for 10 more years on the student/parent loans.

It is a proven fact that current divorce laws punish men, regardless of fault, and provide a rish-free environment for women who choose to divorce.
