What is the name of your state? FLorida

I bought lots of appliances on my credit for a friend, and now after a year of paying the minimum he says that he refuses to pay. What right do I have? If I sue him am I able to collect the money? I am actually considering to pay the amount...it's going to ruin me but I don't want to ruin my credit.
Please help!

Its your card, you are liable. Did you have any WRITTEN agreements with him saying he would pay for the charges ? You could pay it then sue him, but without some kind of proof or agreement, its going to be your word against his in court.
