What is the name of your state? NY If in your past, as a teenager, and in twenties, you were arrested and received an ACD, didn't get in trouble again with these incidents, but approximately 10 years later you have a situation where the DA wants to have hearing to see if she can bring up your past, I was always led to believe that an ACD was sealed after 6 months as long as you didn't get into trouble, so if it is a sealed document how can she open it after 10 + years.

Very simple. A sealed record only means the information is not available to the public. It does NOT mean it doesn't exist and cannot be used if relevant.

found out today, if an ACD was issued and you didn't get into any trouble whether it might be 6months or 1yr, the actual charges or crime is as though nothing ever happened, so as it was explained to us today, nothing is on your record as nothing happened, per the court
