What is the name of your state? PA

A friend of mine fell and broke his arm at work. He had to have a rod inserted into the bone, and will be out of work 8 weeks. About how long does it take to start getting checks from workers comp? Is their a waiting period? Should he get an attorney?

The checks should start arriving in few weeks, but I have heard they can take 30 days or more. Processing time, I guess. I don't know if he needs an attorney for this, so you should wait for others with more knowledge on workman's compensation to post.

Sorry about your friend. His injury sounds painful.
