It doesn't Matter

Driving system arrests and infractions are the Number 1 thing the States want law enforcement to get right now. Officers are now allowed to pull people over without an infraction in spite of what the state law says.

Biggest revenue generator for the state and city. Government is, has, and always will be big business.

Really? And where is THAT little gem written?

My read on the law says I have to have reasonable suspicion to detain someone. Where do you get this bit that we don't need that any more?

And I have yet to read in ANY publication in my state that traffic related offenses are the number one concern among the states. Would you care to cite any source for that one?

Not in California.

If I wanted to make money in here, I'd have everyone do parking enforcement.

All Right!! I was waiting for the day that the law didn't apply. Now we have free reign. Anybody up for a couple of traffic stops for absolutely no reason at all? Come on, anybody? Carl? John? Lawgirl? What, we're all too busy with people that DO do something illegal. Well maybe in the future we can correct that issue and ticket people because we want to.

All I know is I am not driving around with listerine in the car, I am selling my Red Honda and having a HUGE supply of warm buttery croissants in my car from now on.... :D

Ah, heck ... here I am out of town at a week of training and no patrol car available to violate anyone's rights!

Maybe I can make up some cites on my computer. Hmmm ...

Run a plate: All I want.

Make a traffic stop: Not without PC.

Why do traffic enforcement: More people die in traffic related accidents than do in other crimes.

More people die from suicide than homocide.

Thanks Doc... again... been there...read that

You forget... I have been accused of having no life or job...so yes I read that one... too bad the one on the macadamia nuts was erased...it was hysterical!
Maybe IAAL has it in his Archive.

Side line...in cleaning out my car...found 1/2 a hamburger bun...has mold...
A. can I sue my minor child for infesting my car with spores, since she did not throw out her garbage.

2. If penicillin is found in said mold, and I do not have a prescription, can Lawgirl, fedcop, Carl, retiredmotor, or Buckner arrest me... and me and tyson-bird will be roomies...??

Not that any of the cops here would do such a thing, but I do know a deputy who visits his girlfriend or does drug deals in a different county, and writes tickets (entering on them a mile post number inside his own county), so's the sheriff will think he spent his day working. When traffic is very light, the ol' boy is not above writing an entirely bogus citation. What the law says is not always a matter of importance, not out on the mean streets.

Nah penicillin doesn't grow too well on hamburger buns, now if it was rye bread, then you have the bare bones of LSD which is indirectly related to many of the SSRI's in fact of you are on a SSRI and take a Rx/OTC
with DM in it, you can get pretty spacy :) You might try suing her for creating an unattractive nuisance, but then her parents would be responsible for making restitution. :D

Did you know that fish stores sell antibiotics, same as for human consumption but labled differently and you don't need a Rx, kinda fishy if you ask me
