Well, if he's gonna fight it, fighting the times ain't gonna win it. Unless he can show that he was having supper at the time of the arrest so it couldn't have been him, the time issue will be virtually irrelevant since it is only a matter of minutes. And different clocks ARE often off.
For instance, my watch says 1:40 PM, my PC says it's 1:36 PM, my cable box says it's 1:37 PM, and my Dispatcher's console will say it's 1:33 PM (they are 7 minutes slower than my watch).
The time issue will not win the day. Only beating the charge on the elements of the alleged offense will. And if all he's got is the time issue, he should save the cost of the lawyer.
