Can he be banned from property???

Curious, is it legal to discriminate against a person due to past run-in's w/ the law? I hear two stories on this site..

A) You rent it, it's basically your property
B) It's the landlords, and what they want goes...

Which one is it?

How can someone trespass on property they were invited to? Would the landlord need to have a court order or soemthing along those lines?

Good lord...Let me explain myself since you people are not understanding what I am trying to say.
My point in saying he is "not a criminal" is because in MY opinion he is not. I will not go into the details of the issue because I don't feel I need to other than to say it was not violent, non drug related, and was a one time thing that he has worked very hard to get away from. Jeez people... my only point was in my eyes he is nothing more than human. We have all made mistakes. I think it is the repetition of mistakes that makes one a criminal. And yeah yeah yeah... I know my "opinion" is not the point.
But when someone wants to form an opinion about me by saying "at least Im not dating a criminal who can see his own child" naturally Im going to say Im not dating a criminal. I mean come on now! Its not like I am dating a crack head who has attempted murder on his record and who can only see his child under supervised visits.
I am dating a guy who did something stupid, a while ago, who has not done anything before or since and who is a wonderful boyfriend and even better father.
I understand I came to get advice and I got some. You say he is banned from the property and there is nothing I can do about it.
Everything past that was not needed. All of this "who the hell cares" and "at least I dont have a criminal boyfriend who can't see his kid" is petty. Im sure I said my share but I felt totally attacked after these things were said. It just was not nessisary to say these things. At least not if we are all adults here which I assumed it would be.
