What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Minnesota

A neighbor of my family member is loosing her house due to foreclosure. She is selling her Kitchen appliances (refrig, stove, washer and dryer and built in dishwasher) I am interested in purchasing some items but I am wondering if she is able to sell these items or if I do buy items will I be held accountable for the items when the bank takes the house back and finds them gone? She said these items were not included on the morgage.

**A: in most cases these items are considered personal property and not secured by a mortgage.

Anything that is affixed to the real estate (e.g., built-in dishwasher) is part of the real estate and she cannot legally sell those.
