What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts
I live in a 9-unit condo association in MA.
In November of 2010, one of the unit owners died.
She left no will.
Family doesn't want the property.
We hired a lawyer to try & collect delinquent condo fees...currently at 17 months @ $175/month.
Our lawyer put a lien against Chase, the mortgage holder.
After a year, nothing has been resolved.
A lawyer in Newton, MA is representing Chase in the foreclosure process.
I can't get any answers from them!! aarrgghh...
Several people want to purchase the unit.
The condo association would also like to take possession & use it as a rental property...great condition, close to the ocean, desirable neighborhood, etc. could easily rent for $1000/month.
Do we have to wait for a Foreclosure Auction?
I have also contacted 4 real estate agents who work for different agencies in the city.
Not one of them could help me!
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.
