A friend of ours, and his wife, have just adopted an adorable little baby. Everything should be finalized mid summer. He's been offered a new job in the same field in which he has worked for 20+ years and is afraid to switch jobs fearing that this may somehow be detrimental to their being able to finalize this adoption. This would be for same pay, if not more. Shorter hours and generally alot less stress. Same area, not moving.
I can't see how this could be a detriment, but he is scared to lose their child. Could there be any legal ramifications to him moving to this other job? Or could it be that the bio parents could change their minds? He's afraid he may be viewed as unstable. We've tried to tell him changing jobs once every 15 or so years can't be considered unstable. Especially when it's an all around better job. Any advice to pass on to them?
