I live in Florida. I want children badly and my husband does not. He does not want the responsibility. Can we draw up an agreement that he has no future responsibilty for any children we might have?

No.

My response:

Any such agreement would be void. Child support laws do not work that way in any State, and such an agreement would, in effect, take jurisdiction away from the State and courts - - and no one can do that. Therefore, such an agreement is non-enforceable.

Perhaps it's time to evaluate the fact that you and your husband want VERY different things in life. Wanting children verses not wanting children is a HUGE issue, and can alter the quality of both of your lives greatly.

Did you know this before you married him? If you force someone to have children when they do not want them can be devastating for all involved.

Good luck, children are wonderful! (if you have them with the right partner)

My further response:

Did you also know that this planet now has well over 6 billion people on it, and that within the next 50 years, that population is estimated to DOUBLE ?

Think about the fact that any children you do have will be fighting for space, food, water and other resources that may not be available at any price.

Just try to think of the future, just a little bit, if you love your children - - and the ones you want in the future. You might be doing more harm to them, than good. It might be time to stop.

If this gives you some "pause", you and your husband just might get along.
