What is the name of your state? Michigan

 I am 17 years old and I am worried about insurance rising. I was driving downa straight 55 mph road when i passed a state trooper. I was driving my girlfriends car and its a 97 chevrelet (much lighter then my buick regal) so i do not deny speeding. The officer told me that he had me at a max of 72. when he came back and told me that he had givin me a brak, he had written the ticket for 60 in a 55. He then said your not going to fight it right? of course i said right... anything to get a cop from breathing down your neck.

My Question is that if i do plead not guilty and say it must have been device malfuntcion if its possible for it to get raised back up to 72 in a 55. I would apreciate a response quickly,

Thank you in advanced,
Tim

What was your last grade in math class?........60 in a 55 is way better than 72 in a 55. Less money being paid out on your part buddy.

It seems you did not understand my question. If i were to fight the ticket, is there any possible way that it could be brought up to 72 in a 55...buddy :D

My state: PA

When in court, you are fighting what is actually on your ticket. Since I am currently doing ticket research (for my own benefit), I took a look at Michigan (curiousity is a strong motivator) and found this:

(11) A citation or civil infraction determination for exceeding a lawful maximum speed limit of 55 miles per hour by driving 65 miles per hour or less shall not be considered by any person in establishing automobile insurance eligibility or automobile insurance rates.

Interesting.

I don't usually advocate pleading guilty to a speeding ticket, but in light of the aforementioned info, you might want to consider it.

Thank you loulblades for your response. I am not sure if this is completly true because everyything i have heard counters it. The penalty for my current case of 60 in 55 is 95$ and 2 points on my license. If anyone else has any further knowledge on the subject it would be greatly appreciated.
