Mich, I had my temp custody hearing yesterday. The reason for it was because I didnt agree with the mediators recomendation. The judge asked why we didnt agree with the recomendation and my attorney told him a few reasons. My husbands attorney stood there and lied to the judge and told him that at first I agreed to everything the mediator said. And then after he put all the work in to writing up the order, I changed my mind. I didnt ever agree with the order and my attorney knew that and so did my husbands attorney. In fact, the mediator even told me not to worry because the judge always overturns their recomendation anyway. Well, The judge approved the recomendation. He didnt even listen to my attorney. Then when I got a copy of the order, We found that the child support amount was wrong. And it also said that I agreed to that. Which I did not. I called the friend of court person that figures out the child support and she said it was wrong. I should be getting a couple of hundred more a month. She said my attorney should have never agreed to that order. You can tell by looking at it that it is wrong. So now I am waiting to hear from my attorney. But wonder if anyone knows if this can still be changed to the right amount even though the judge signed it. And, am I wrong to think that my attorney dropped the ball here? So far, my attorney hasnt done anything that has gone in my favor yet. I seem to have to dig into these things and then tell him. Thanks for any help.

You're going to have a hard time modifying an order from yesterday without new facts. Your attorney dropped the ball; time to hire a new one and fast to see what can be done to straighten out this mess.

One more question...would it do any good to write a letter to the judge explaining this whole mess? Thank you

No, in fact you cannot speak with the judge without the other party being present.
