Can you be rejected for employment?

What is the name of your state? Utah. Okay so my husband has been working for UPS for and is FINALLY being called for a driving position with them. Of course this is happening during our bankruptcy which is going to slightly raise our income...but they are also asking for a credit check. Can they decide not to give him the driving position based on the bankruptcy? I am guessing yes...

Its possible, yes. Although I don't know why a UPS driver would be a risk.

Who knows...you don't even have to take a drug test or have a high school diploma to work in there hub...but once you become a driver it's the third degree. Oh well...maybe we will get lucky and they wont check.

Honesty, integrity,stealing are all important issues with UPS drivers. If a person cant honor a contract then how can UPS trust them as an employee?

I have a friend who has worked for UPS for years down in AL. He told me the quickest route UP in UPS is by being a driver, more opportunities for advancement.

funny thing about that is...drivers are railed for ANY packages that are unaccounted for (or mis delivered or not delivered on time ect.) It would be VERY VERY difficult to steal a package as a driver. Not like in the hub where they let the crack adicts and high school drop outs work.

Oh please.. don't even start. Just because you file for bankrutpcy doesn't mean you're dishonest, lack integrity or become a thief. There are LOTS of reasons people file for bankruptcy.. defaulting on credit cards, it turns out, is low on the list. Medical bills, job loss, and divorce are the top 3 reasons for bankruptcy. You're going to classify the guy who has cancer and winds up with 100K in medical bills as a THIEF and n'ere to well ?? Please.. you sound like the pinheaded politicians in DC who think this bankrutpcy reform bill is going to 'fix' things in this country ! The only thing its going to fix is the campaign coffers of the likes of Delay who have been bribed by the credit card companies to shove this bill down the throats of the American people.

thanks ladynred. It's tough work to become a driver you have to work with UPS for a Long time, but UPS is actually a very very good company and we wouldn't have survived without them....if the driver thing doesn't work out yet..then we will survive...it's just so frustrating that it happens now. It's just our luck.

I am LUCKY to be alive. How many people do you think actually file for bankruptcy due to dishonesty?!
