Cant afford my wonderful stay in jail

I spent 7 days in oakland county jail and i just receieved a bill for 420 dollars(60 a day). Now i am very confused, i cant believe that most of the people in their that i met could possibly be able to afford the 60 dollards a day. I know i cant. Can someone explain to me the whole deal wiht the charges? How can i get out of paying it all since i cant afford it?

My response:

The "whole deal" is that you committed a crime, and I, as a taxpayer, was housing you - - all because YOU decided to commit a crime. So, now I want my money back from you. Jails aren't cheap and someone has to pay for them. As a law abiding taxpayer, I don't mind "fronting" the money to pay for your housing, or your food. BUT, once you're out, your ass belongs to me and all the other taxpayers.

Rest assured, at some point in your life, you'll be paying me back - - all the while interest will be accruing at 10% per annum. So, pay me now, or pay me later. But, you will pay, more than probably through earnings garnishment.

Now i dont know what ur deal is, i asked a simple question. I learned from my mistakes and am really a good person. I do not use drugs or anything like that and i am a college student(duke) who will be very succesful. All i did was ask a simple question and would appreciate a simple non smart alek answer.

I would also like to add that for example when i was in court a guys phone rang and the judge said "10 days in jail or pay a 100 dollar fine" If he would have chosen jail than he would of had to pay 600 dollars(60 a day). So i dont understand?

Unless its changed you used to be able to sit out your fines at like $50 aday to pay them off. Call the clerk of the court.

Simple answer: Pay your fee and quit crying about it. You won't ever be as successful as you want to be unless you learn to take responsibility.

Their is a due date on the bill but there is no interest so she said technically i can pay it whenever.

Most the OPs here talk getto/street talk with non perfect grammar or words so I was writing in their language so they can understand. I obviously hit a nerve in you, hm.....

Second, you seem to have an impression that "successful" people have criminal records - - because "you've never seen one" who didn't. All I'm telling you is that I'm one of those people whom most would say is "successful" - - yet, I don't have a criminal record.

So, open your eyes, and get out a little more. There's more to life than those found in your trailer park, and there are millions of us non-criminals out there.

You misinterpreted me ...again. I didn't say that successful people have a criminal record, I commented THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Read posts twice if you need to.
The trailer park comment is getting old, I've never even been in one, so I obviously don't live in one.
I am a non-criminal myself, so use the slapping for people that actually use up YOUR tax dollars instead of on us who don't.
