What is the name of your state? Alabama

I have been denied a credit card with 8.9% interest rate from capital one due to their conservative criteria they do not explain on their web-site application form. the form only allows one income instead of household and allows 2 credit cards with balances to be transferred. i provided them with 1 credit card to transfer and my gross income. i was denied because of "multiple" accounts yet equifax, which is the credit bureau they use, shows that i only have 5 accounts - morgage, car loan, major credit card, store credit card and funiture store - the same that the average family has if not more. i have excellent credit which enabled me and my husband to get a morgage. according to capital one the 5 accounts was too many. if their criteria is too conservative for the average person to qualify then how can they advertise for people to apply if they are just going to waste their time and cause a credit report to be pulled against their account. by the way, they did come back and say i could try for 14.5%. does this sound like a scam to get people to apply when their is no way than can get a 8.9% credit card.

Cap 1 is trying hard to break into the prime market. I got a 0% BT offer in Jan. through the May billing cycle and then 7.99% fixed for the life of the transfer. Point is, they do offer these low interest rate products.
Don't give up. If you've got good credit, call Cap 1 and ask to speak with someone about reconsideration. They do it all the time. If you get nowhere, use www.planetfeedback. That goes directly to the corp. offices and many have reported favorable results from this avenue.

I've read far too many horror stories about Cap1 to ever believe that their cards are worth having one in your wallet ! There are other prime lenders out there. if you go to www.bankrate.com you can probably find a good one with a decent rate that won't pull a scam on you like Cap1 is reputed for doing.

What's in MY wallet ??? NOT Cap 1 :D
