What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I was stopped by the red light and a truck came from behind and hit me. It was pretty hard and loud. No exterior damage surprisingly but a few minor scratches but when I drive, something drags and makes a noise. I am not sure if he had insurance or not but he said he had no auto papers. I got his Driver's License #, address and phone number. He got my Driver's License # and phone number. He also offered to pay cash for my any of my damages. We did not call the police though. I have the minimum liability and $1000 on both collision and comprehensive but no uninsured motorist coverage.

I don't think I hit the person in front me due to the collision from behind. Since I immediatly got off my the car and went to see if there were and damages from the back. I did not see the driver in front of me in our area. We both then parked the car at a local pharmacy store near-by to exchange info. So the driver in front of me did not follow us there.

I believe that what to do in the event of an accident is covered both in driver's education courses as well as the test for obtaining a driver's license.

Sue the guy in small claims court if you can find him. Don't count on much.
