I recently received a ticket for careless driving in NJ because I turned left onto a one way street where I was apparently going the wrong way. My question is that after returning to the scene of the alleged violation I noticed that there was no indication that the street I turned onto was a one-way street (no one-way, do not enter or no left turn signs at any of the 4 street corners). Do I have a valid argument to fight this violation because there were no signs posted that allowed me to know that this was a one-way street?

Yes you do have a valid defense.
