Cell phone matter

last year, I left my fathers home as I simply couldn't stand my stepmother, and theres a cell phone bill involved they they are saying is my responsibility, But I'm not sure if it is...($230)

When I moved in iwth them, we cosed my old cell phone account and they added a line to their own account. I left the household, and it was clear I wasn't coming back and I left the phone with them. THey were also paying the bills for me when I lived with them. SO in my absence since it is an additional line to their account and I haven't signed anything am i responsible?

If they did take legal action and I was brought to small claims court what would be the chance of them winning?

Also I'm not sure but I may have been a minor at the time, and would that change anything?

You say that they paid it the whole time. Why would they want you to pay any part of it now? They have nothing to go on. They could claim it was a verbal agreement but the burden of proof would be on them.

Send them a FDCPA Debt Validation Request Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested. Also check to see if they are licensed to collect in your state.

Im not sure what I Should do this woman is ruining my life she tries so hard to bring me down in everything, and my father just goes along with it. I thought people want their children to suceeed?I might just pay it so she'll shut up and go away lol SHes done so much crap.


Shes also lying about some insurance fraud thing saying i went to the doctor and lied about my dads health insurance saying I was on mailhandlers ...which i didnt

SHe had me so scared saying the cops were going to arrest me for committing fraud (and mentioned something about crossing state lines)

so I am sending him a certified copy of a letter saying that I paid and was under Bluecross insurance and if anything they owe me the fifteen dollar co-pay!



theres also another matter but if she think I'll even begin to pay her for that shell have to drag me, kicking and screaming to court lol

she wants me to pay for a car thats in her name, and the past six months my dada and her have been using since i was gone b/c it was supposivly mine when i was there,

she said It was mine as long as i was in school, and like stated before she knew I was leaving at december, but I left earlier. I made the payment and insurance while I used it but it was not in my name

Not everyone is fortunate to have a family that is healthy to be around.

You may have to consider that it would be better to seek the closeness and love family is supposed to provide from friends.

Its a hard lesson to learn.
