What is the name of your state?
Texas

I was able to buy my cell phone records from a website. Isn't this a violation of my right to privacy? How is the website getting my cell phone information?

I would that depend on two things:

1. What did the records include?
2. Was this web-site affiliated to your cell-phone service provider? For example, if your provider has setup a web-site that uses encryption and is able to provide customers with their current records for a fee, I doubt that it is a violation of privacy.

Could you provide us with little more details?

The records included the dates and phone numbers of my last 100 outgoing phone calls.

The website is not affiliated with my service provider. My service provider has a website where I can view my own records using a password - at no fee. However, I was also able to purchase other persons records, not just my own.

There are dozens of website (not cell phone service providers) that offer to get cell phone records of other at a fee.
