Wellll ... I wouldn't quite go THAT far. It depends on what state you are in, and just how far the officer wants to push the issue!

In my state you would have confessed to what is essentially an infraction, so other than make you do a sobriety test, there might not be a lot to do. But! Making that comment would likely result in additional scrutiny and a possible pat-down for more marijuana. And being under 18 (I presume - since you are still in high school ... though you could be 18) that would give even greater cause.

So, while I presume you know that your comment was an overstatement, never assume that all because there is not an obvious action that can be taken that a cop can NOT take SOME action. Someone like me has been around a lot and can articulate quite a bit to perform some lawful "messing around" with someone if I choose to.

And I certainly hope you take heed of this second chance as you indicated.

Good luck.

Your right Carl, I think my statment was a bit of an exaggeration. While in a drug awarness presentation at school someone admitted to smoking marijuana on a regular basis and he was just told to be careful. I'm sure if you were disrespectful and blunt to an officer and said that somwhere on the street things probably wouldn't turn out the same. As for the wire tap thing, hell it could be possible but I'm not worring about it because like I said I don't deal weed ( I have no reason to lie here) and I also said this was a good wake up call to stop my habbits (meaning i wont have to call anyone to get it). Nothing can and will happen. Thanks for the advise. This thread is over.

Just my two cents Akuma.

There isn't anything you can do about them checking your lost cell phone text msgs.

I don't like this, but there isn't anything the police can do about the texts. What I mean by that is, they can't arrest you solely for the text. They can use that as probably cause to search and dig and find.

Like CDW said, use this as a wake up call and quit smokin.

If you were trying to help, thank you. But really..."This thread is over"

Read over my posts and you'll see that I stated.... twice, that I planned on ending my habbit. Thanks for the concern.
