Change in Job/Change in Support??

I am currently paying the maximum child support (25%) for two children in the state of WI to my ex-husband. It was set at 25% in 6/03.

Sometime in the next 3-6 months, it is highly likely that I will be changing jobs to further my career (as an executive secretary), namely meaning more pay (probably an increase of 25% in salary).

When/if I make a career move, will the ex be able to take me back to court to have the support increased accordingly? I am doing this so that, in addition to benefitting my career, I have enough money left to live on for myself, and when my children are with me. I am currently in a Ch. 13 bankruptcy as well, and am obviously garnished for that also.

Finally, one more question--if I move out of state (to Illinois) as that's where the jobs seem to be, will I still be garnished? I don't have a problem with this at all, just curious what happens when you cross state lines.

With a 25% increase in salary, it is extremely likely that your ex could get an upward modification in support. In addition, depending on the distance you're moving, there may be a modification of visitation required - with you covering travel/expenses. And yes, your CS can be garnished when you move out of state.
