Hello,

I currently have a B1 Visa and need to change it to L1. What is required from me in order to be able to do that?

Thank you in advance for your help!

If you are eligible for the L-1 status, the employer would need to submit a L-1 visa petition on your behalf with the USCIS and have that approved. This is typically handled by an attorney retained by the company or by the individual seeking the L-1 change of status.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or how I can be of further assistance to you in this matter.

Thank you very much for your response! How do I know if I'm eligible for the L-1 status?

Thanks!

Well, if you know you are trying for the L-1 status, I presume you've read about it and know what the requirements are. You have to be hired by the US entity and you have to show that you have been employed by an affiliate of that company abroad for at least one year out of the last 3 years.
