What is the name of your state? NY

My two children reside with my ex-wife and I have a great deal of visitation. My older son will be attending a community college that is closer to my home than my ex-wife's and there are more opportunities for part time employment in my area.

My ex currently is consider the custodial parent by court order and my sone is 17. He has asked if he can live with me because of the points listed above (college closer to me and more places for potential employment).

I welcome this arraigment and was wondering what procedures I must take to make this happen in the least costly manner? I have not discussed this with my ex and I'm hoping that there are not any issues. I do pay a great deal in child support and she reaps the tax benefits.

Does anyone know where I would start here in NY?
