What is the name of your state? Michigan

A friend of mine lives in Michigan. She's 16 and her parents are divorced. She has a brother who's 18 years old.

Her father has visitation rights, and whenever he sees her, he abuses her. She's told her mother, and even brought her dad to see a counselor at the hospital [where he denied everything], but nothing has been done about the situation. Her brother won't report anything because he likes her dad and still wants him around.

I don't know what I can do to help her short of asking for legal advice. If her father is abusing her during visitation, isn't that illegal? What can she do to put a stop to this?

And yes, I've told her to call the police.

That's the thing, I don't know the specifics to her whereabouts, other than she lives in Michigan.

That, and I'm in Canada, so.. I don't know if that makes any difference.
