What is the name of your state? Arizona
My husband and I are on the verge of a possible divorce. He is threatening to fight for custody of our 7 year old son. I have been the sole provider for the last 5 years. He does not have a current income and hasn't for 5 years (our choice). My question is, do you think he even has a chance in gaining custody? I cannot afford a lawyer at alland quite frankly I don't see where he thinks he can afford one himself.

I can tell you first hand...yes.

My ex was a "self employed" construction worker...I paid the bills for the 4 yers of out marriage. We had a little girl and filed for divorce when she was 2.

Because I was the bread winner and he was the "caregiver" (and other reasons) he was granted primary residential custody and I pay child support.

here I thought I was taking care of my family, and I got kicked in th ebutt for doing so. Luckiily I have about 40% of the time with her...

Good luck...

Well, this is the situation most fathers find themselves in.
