What is the name of your state? Texas

I posted a thread regarding child support a couple of weeks ago. However, it seems I was forgotten. I understand there are millions of other threads :)

I received welfare (Iowa) when my daughter was first born and I know he is required to pay back the state or something along those lines, but is there a state agency that I am supposed to contact to find out if other than paying the state, he was ordered to pay me child support individually?

If other info is needed and you don't want to go back to my last thread let me know..

Thanks a million :D

I have never taken him to court for a support order. But wouldn't the state if I received welfare? All of this with him has happened so long ago how would I go about even finding out? Sorry to sound so stupid... I just feel stuck.
Thanks again for your time,
Amber

How could the state make him pay? He could say the child was not his.

The courts need to here the case and decide who will get custody and how much child support will be paid. As far as I know if a married couple separates and lets say for 2 years no divorce takes place. The CP would not be entitled to back child support; it would start after the courts made a decision.

Hello :)
We have been to court and the court awarded me sole physical custody with limited supervised visitation (4hr mo)for him, and we have joint legal custody. We were never married.

You should contact the family court in you area and start a petition for child support. They will give you the proper papers. :)
