i am in the state of north carolina. I want to how do you qualify for alimony? how is that amount determined? i have two minor children 2 and 5 how is child support determined. my husband left the household and was committing adultery before he left. this is abandonment of affection. am i entitled to any stock options obtained during the marriage? we have been married 6 years.

You would certainly, I think, at least be entitled to child support. I am not a lawyer but suggest you get some legal advice at least on a free consultation or try to get legal fees assigned to him in a final settlement. NC is one of the states where adultery is a factor, so, legal advice could really help. My spouse is guilty of adultery here in Florida, but, this state gives it very little credence, although morally it is terrible. Good luck.
