That was an unacceptable answer, I don't want to hear "can't" I'm looking for the "how to" answers.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but the fact IS, what you "want" to hear and the reality of your situation are two VERY different things.As Stealth said, ''Unfortunately, verbal agreements are as good as the paper they're written on." which means that a verbal agreement is worthless. Your lawyer was right. Sorry it not what you "want" to hear. Is there a financial aid program?? scholarships? anything of that sort? I know that at my local Montessori school my best friend had financial help for her daughters. Just a thought.

TN. To be honest I hadn't given consideration seeking financial support for my child to continue attending the Montessori program. I will certainly investigate that path and thank you for that idea.

As to your comment dealing with reality and "what I want to hear" being two different things, I see it as more about investigating alternative paths to still reach the desired outcome. I've had bad experiences dealing with attorney's in the past regarding other issues aside from divorce or child issues. I took their word upon initial counseling as to the "can's" and "can't" of dealing with certain legal issues, only to discover down the road how mislead I allowed myself to be without questioning that advice. In otherwords, the advice you receive may seem black and white leaving no other doors opens or options open to resolving certain legal issues. However, from that same experience I've found the more you explore your avenues and arm yourself with more knowledge suddenly the legal advice you receive offers more "can's".
