My response:

As long as a judge signs your order, you no longer have to pay child support.

However, be advised that once you relinquish your parental rights, that means you no longer have a child. In other words, you'll have as much right to that child as I do; which is none. Also, if the other parent wishes to keep you out of that child's life, you will never see that child again.

If you attempt to intrude on that child's life, for example, showing up at the child's school, you could be arrested for stalking, harassment, and a whole host of other criminal offenses.

Remember, once it's done, it's forever. Be absolutely sure this is what you really want to do.
