What is the name of your state? MS

I didn't want to hijack woompa's post even though I have a similar question.

I requested child support along with primary custody back in Oct.
Temp order says father shall have the total support obligation of the minor child until further orders of the Court.

This means this means when I get CS it won't go back to the filing date. Correct?

The temporary orders should clarify when and how much the payments will be.

The way I understand this post is that the father(I'm assuming you) will support the child on your own unless or until the court changes that. Not sure I find that fair... however that's how it reads.

Who has the children (custody)?
Does anyone pay or recieve child support now or prior?
If so who?
Is there a pending court date?
If so What is the hearing for?

Thats what I got out of it too. So when I get the CS order it will only go from that day forward and not back when it was filed. Am I correct in thinking this.

I feel CS is the only thing my son will get from his BM since she doesn't seem to care about contacting him at this point. Fortunately, my son has a wonderful "Mother" here in my wife.

I (father) have my son.
There was no CS prior (joint custody) or now because of temp order.
Court date should be in July for permenant custody and CS.

And more then likely that is when support will be set. It is odd that support wasn't addressed per se at this past hearing. Have you asked your attorney about it?

My attorney, the judge, and the x (she has no lawyer) conferenced in the judges chambers. No CS was addressed. The judge said he needed more paperwork (he only had copies of the original decree and the modification). He said I will continue to have temp custody and x will continue to have instate visitations only.

per se? I'm sorry, I'm still learning the language.

I was so relieved to still have custody that I didn't think much of it until now when he needs a new wardrobe for summer and is playing summer sports.

Right.. they need ALL income from both parents more then likely. Then it's iffy.. They MIGHT go back to the date filed but if I read the wording correctly then I would say no. Would I would suggest is if at the next courtdate you make sure you have everything, if anything they want from you.... and if bio-mom doesn't have her s*it together and there ask that the papers are not written the way they are now... Did that make sense?? LOL THis could be a ploy from mom to get out of paying.. don't let her continue.

Divorced in 2000 just before my 21st birthday. Joint custody. Am now modifying to myself with primary custody (hopefully).
