Reckless in VIRGINIA/ written plea???

What is the name of your state?KY

Ticket for reckless driving in VA. Coming back from vacation, which we take in VA every year, atleast for the past 4 or 5 yrs. I was doing 87/65. I was traveling with the flow of traffic in the fast lane not noticing my speed.

Just wanting to know if anyone has summited a letter in their absence with a plea of nolo? I really don't think I can make the trip back to go to court because I will have to take my oldest out of school to do so, and bring the little one along as well. I know it is a lame excuse, but I don't think I can travel another 8-9 hours in one day with the little ones. Or would it be more beneficial to take the kids to court with me??? :D My husband is out of town on business and I have no one else with whom I can leave them.

I have been driving for 17 years and have only 1 other driving violation from years ago.

Any advice on what to include in a letter on my behalf for a written plea?

Thanks in advance.

Ticket for reckless driving in VA. Coming back from vacation with my 2 kids (18 months and 4 years), my sisterin-law and my mother-in-law .... notice my husband bailed on the trip  Anyway, you get the picture.

MY RESPONSE: Actually, I don't. This has nothing to do with anything, and you're just venting.

I was doing 87/65. I was traveling with the flow of traffic in the fast lane not noticing my speed, just trying to make it the next 4 hours without shooting myself from the noise and babble.

My response:

If you know your bail amount, just pay the ticket. If you don't, then wait for the Notice in your mailbox.

over 80 in VA is reckless driving which requires a mandated court appearance or written appearance. No prepayment is allowed. ..
Again....has anyone had experience with writing a letter in lieu of appearance? Is it better to plead guilty or nolo?
