Well I suppose then I wont need to ask this myself anymore.

I dont think a 10 year old should have her own 22 semi auto. I also dont think she should be able to fire it into water at fish etc. I am just mom what do I know. (that last comment was laced with sarcasm)

It's legal if you are on a private lake (or the fish are in a barrel). It's still stupid, but it's legal.

Thanks for your opionion, i will pass it on to the mother:)

I also grew up around guns, my family are hunters and some are in law enforcement, except my brother he works for the post office they wont let him own one:eek: j/k

Have to agree, you can teach children all about safety but children are still children ..... one uncle is a cop, very responsiable, and has alot of respect for the gun, thought he was doing it all right, gun locked up, bullets locked in another spot, and keys hidden somewhere else. But some how the kid knew and one day wanted to show off his daddy gun to a friend. Yes it is going where you think it is, the friend shot my cousin on accident. The memory of my cousin brain everywhere still makes me want to hurl after all these years.

I dont want my children around guns but do respect the ones that are smart be able to do that but in my family they make them wait till the take gun safety classes and hunter safety classes, different state different ages.

The mother has also learned to shoot a gun at young age. What upsets her is the way the daughter reacts to it. And no her husband is not one of the smart ones:mad: And i did forget to mention, was reminded by one post NO the father does not make her wear ear protection. Another upset mother has stressed.

I agree if hubby wont do something knowing it is bothering his child then she should at least try and see if she can get a judge to do it.
